Goldfish's 3 second memory
The goldfish is a freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae of order Cypriniformes. It is commonly kept as a pet in indoor aquariums, and is one of the most popular aquarium fish. Native to East Asia, the goldfish is a relatively small member of the carp family.
There is a popular belief that Goldfish only have a 3 second memory. A new study not only debunks this myth but also proves that Goldfish are smart. In a popular science experiment scientists trained some young goldfishes and played a certain sound at feeding time. After that they were released into the ocean. About 6 months later scientists played the same sound over loudspeaker and many of the goldfish returned means Goldfish can remember for over 6 months. Goldfish have shown the ability to learn and process the information like others. Pet goldfish can distinguish between humans and recognize the human that feeds them.
