Pee Shiver
Our bladder can hold only 200 to 350 ml of urine. As a result we pee 6 to 7 times daily passing roughly 1 to 2 liters of urine.
But, why do we Shiver after peeing?
- First theory is that, shivering is a response to cold. As we release warm urine from our body it causes a decrease in body temperature. So to generate the lost heat and warm up our body responds with a quick shiver.
- Second theory is that, shiver is due to Autonomic Nervous System which is devided into two parts.
1. Sympathetic system which regulates fight/flight reflex
2. Parasympathetic system which relaxes the body
When our urinary bladder gets full Parasympathetic system comes into action and prepare us for peeing. But when we pee, our blood pressure drops which turns on Sympathetic system to restore blood pressure.
This creates a mixed single between 2 nervous system components and triggers an involuntary PEE SHIVER.
